What are some of the smallest fish we can buy here in Singapore.
For putting in a planted shrimp tank
Preferably about size of the shrimps or smaller so that they won't eat the shrimplets?

You could consider the Paedocypris progenetica (aka ruby rasbora), max. size only 1cm... looks like this:

Check with LFS like Green Chapter, they have stocked them before.
I've kept them a while back and although they will not bother with adult and juvenile shrimp, they will still snack on newborn shrimplets (those tiny 1-2mm transparent ones). I've seen mine hunting all the way inside dense clumps of java moss, no hiding place is safe anymore for shrimplets.![]()
Otocinclus fish will totally leave shrimps alone I believe. Rest of the fish no matter how small, if hungry enough, no guarantee won't attack shrimplets. But then, if you plant densely enough, should be still be able to see increase in population.
That is why you see professional shrimp breeder more extreme, strict shrimp only, not even otos.
I have guppies with my red cherry shrimps.. they co-exist well together..
ps. am constantly reducing my bio-load of guppies, any bros want to have some, at well below market price, do pm me..
