A few days ago I noticed little green specks on my fish tank walls and now I am seeing brown spots appearing as well. There are definitely more spots from the time I noticed them a few days ago. What would be the best way to tackle my algae problem? i tried using
scrub pad to crub the wall but it doesn't seem to work at all.
And why did it suddenly start now?

For GSA issue, use aquarium razor blade and scrub, after that do a 20-30% water change, doze some algaexit. Monitor and control your lighting period, co2 and fert.. etc.
As for livestock, add into some Otos, SAE, nerite snail, etc. I also facing the same issue for my 1 month old tank. Just be patient

Nerite snails will not reproduce in freshwater... but if conditions are favourable, females nerite snails may lay tiny white eggs in the tank, they will be dormant though, as the larve need brackish water to hatch and develop.
