My parents just dropped a bomb on me this week and said they were buying me a new 6x2.5x2.5ft cabinet sump tank.

I currently have a 6x1.6x2.5ft planted tank for my Arowana, and other fishes. However the width is not ideal as the fishes grow bigger.
I also have a 31.51.5 tank for my Pearl SP stingray.

My eventual (hopefully) setup will be a planted tank with:
    - Arowana (13")
    - Channa Dipplogramma (10")
    - Silver Arowana (13")
    - Fei Feng (8")
    - Bambusa (8")
    - Pearl SP ray (8" diameter)
    - Mala Wolf (8")

Some photos of my current setup:

The only thing that I am cracking my head about, is how to scape a tank for the stingray. It needs bottom floor space to swim.. It would wreck the plants.

My dad suggested creating a false elevated platform for the plants wood and stuff, leaving the bottom as spacious as possible with river sand for the stingray.
I know for such a setup a 3ft width and 3ft height is better but I don't have such a luxury haha.

I've also tried to google to find similar setups but unfortunately, most monster fish owners don't like to add plants to their setup.
Esp I have not seen a stingray with a heavily planted setup.

The only inspiration I've ever got was from vivariums and paludariums which utilize a half water half land with plants in a single tank. I can only imagine if the paludarium is fully submerged in water haha..

Any ideas? If possible I will journal my setup in this thread if it ever kicks off haha. Thanks in advance!

Stingrays don't go well with plants. However, you can try planting floating plants and then grow them. The thing about Stingray is that they are active bottom feeders so they would rip up your plants. I haven't seen someone try it before but you can try growing a few hardy, deep rooting plants that the Stingray can't dig up or go with floating plants.

Finally set up this new massive project. A 6x2.5x3ft cabinet sump tank.
    Sump is 5x2x1.5

Some pics. Still more work to be done.

Hahaha I tried to create as much space as possible.. For now it's seems very possible just need to put it in to see for myself!(; well.. As it grows bigger, I can rescape too(: it's a big tank that can house it for pretty long haha...
