    Hi Guys,

A few day ago, I discovered my Alternanthera leaves to be feasted on.
The thing is I could not catch the naughty species that is munching them.
Now what is left is just a bare stem!

So here are the list of suspects:

    1) Cherry Barb
    2) Cardinal Teta
    3) Pygmy Corridor
    4) Amano Shrimp
    5) Venezuelan Corridors
    6) Aspidora
    7) Cherry Shrimp

Could it be the Amano Shrimp?

Most likely its the yamato/amano shrimps, they have the extra strength to tear into soft plant matter (hence their effectiveness against algae)... though it also likely that your alternanthera leaves are probably already deteriorating/melting so the shrimps will clear those up as part of their diet of rotting plant matter. If a plant's leaves are healthy, those shrimps generally don't eat it.

The strange thing is, my Alternanthera condition is pretty good (at least to me).
For about 4 months since planting, it has grown to quite big. Then suddenly,
I noticed the newer red leaves (near top of tank) started getting chewed up. Bit
by bit, everything was stripped bare for about 4 of these plants.

Bought a new batch of Alternanthera about 1 week and replanted it. It looks
pretty healthy and the same pattern is repeated again. Now just left a
    bare patch.

I got a feeling one of the species acquired a taste for the plant ....
