    I hope you don't mind me posting your pics here since most people are lazy to go to hotlinks

    How come there are so many purplish spots in the tank? I can't figure out what they are.

    I like your first tank the best. The other two seem sparsely planted, and formless. Perhaps the first tank can be improved furthur by good trimming of the stem plants.

    The links were put in instead of photos because there are a wide variety of photos for each tank.

    The purple spots you speak of is part of the color for the black plant.

    Photos taken prior to pruning and water change.

    The black plant is called a black pearl.... That one and the white one in the guest room tank are plastic.
