Is it UV lamp or Moonlight lamp? I see this ad selling moonlight lamp on TFH... Tempted to try...![]()

Hi ppl;
i've seen many nice submission from other members and i'm sure ppl are inspired to try out many of the themes and layouts presented.
so heres my contribution , my tank fitted with night lights.
Intro----of light and darkness,
hmmm basically this is to give my tank a duo personality, one of normal daylight and one of nightlight.
so i got some led and they provided the necessary spot lighting on designated areas.
here goes
---

A bubbling riccia patch under normal lighting. would be nice if i could view them with 'nightlights'.
![]()
the nightlights shining on the same patch of riccia, a stray neon tetra goes under the light beam. the white spots below are actually the bubbles~

overview of the tank
due to the obvious weakness of my "free gift camera"
i'm unable to capture the overview of my aquarium in 'nightlights mode'.
i have 2 other 'night lit' areas, both are being obsecured from view by plants under normal lighting.
one is the drift wood on the left which is obsecured by the overgrown foreground plants~
the other is the white stone slab on the right also obsecured from view by the plants~
so when the normal lights goes off, these two areas becomes hi lighted and stands out...cool~

I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted!), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted!

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

I would say that's very creative!!! Not only suitable for planted aquaria, but also for fish keepers with nocturnal fauna as well.
Care to share more about the light set?
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Very nice healthy looking tank....I bet it's an eye pleaser at night with those night lights on it........would be nice to see....![]()

hi ppl;
i'm just using normal blue led from sim lim tower, each at $3,
so i just got some wires, and a variable voltage AC-DC adapter.
soldered the connections together.
![]()
this is the variable ac-dc adapter set to 2Volts
![]()
the main connection for the led, the top part is the + and bottom is -
![]()
slightly untidy but hidden from view, the led are stuck to the lamp rack.
they can be bent on the wires to adjust the aim of the spot light.
so it cost $12 for the led, $3 for the 3m wire, $7 for the adapter.
altogether $22,
also for longevity of the led u could also buy an additional resistor, but u gotta calculate the required current.
hope this helps
very unusualit gives and mysterious atmosphere to the tank. I think it would look great with a cichlids tank
