Hi guys, my bettas had spawned and the eggs have just hatched yesterday. so..i removed the female after the eggs are laid. then i removed the male after the frys are hatched. now the thing is that, i notice some died eggs and died frys under the tank. any idea how do i remove them? i'm worried that if those died corpse are not removed, the tank may be prone to some bacteria or fungus infection~ i dun really dare to siphone the water with a small tube cause i scare the fries will sink to the bottom and get drown.

    The containment is approx 15 X 15 X 15cm
    Water level approx 6 - 7 cm.
Water condition has been stagnant for approx 3 days.
Content of tank: bubble nest, unhatched eggs, drowned frys, floating frys, small bunch of taiwan moss
Age of frys: close to one day. hatched last nite.

how to filer~~~?? need any aeration? pls help~!! thanks~

i think you should only remove the father after the frys are free swimming. they are normally good fathers and will pickup eggs and frys and repair the bubble nest.

you can use a eye dropper to suck out the dead eggs and fry. then squirt it back into the container through one of those fine white mesh nets. hope you have prepared the infusoria....

Get something called "Liquifry" it's baby fish food, commonly sold in shops. And alternative would be get the yolks of hard boiled eggs, mash it into a paste and put a TINY bit into the tank.

Alternatively, I've got a tank full of tubifex and daphnia, including the babies so your fry should have no problem finding food. It's what they'd eat in the wild anyway. Quite willing to give you some if you don't mind coming down to pasir ris. 98627310.

Shouldn''t have remove the male as he will pickup the fries n return them to bubblenest. Some ppl tot the male eating the fries when he gulp them up, actually he is saving them cos their special organ has'n't develope yet. Therefore, they need the bubblenest.
