Hi everyone! Happy Chinese New Year!

Okies I've got a question to ask. Corys are schooling fish right? Do they swim in a school if they are of different species? Like Panda, Leopards, Sterbai, will they all swim in a school? Or they only friend same types.

Yes, they do if they are of similar shape and size. For example, Corydoras sterbai, Corydoras panda, Corydoras trilineatus will all school together.

But don't expect Corydoras fowleri (Long sharp nose type, about 8 to 10 cm), Corydoras metae (round headed type, about 5 cm) and Corydoras pygmaeus (dwarf type, about 3 cm) to hang out together.

Hope that helps. Which species exactly did you get anyway? Most of the comon ones should be fine.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Hi,

Can pygmaeus be housed in the same tank with much larger cories?

Yes. If you set up is heavily planted and they have a proper resting place then you might not have a problem. Otherwise, it's best to have an environment where they are comfortable and will not be out completed for food.

Hastatus will school more with pygmaeus and apis rather than the other ground hugging cories

Thanks so much! So many responses! I'm thinking of getting a few panda, leopard, bronze and albino ones for my 3ft planted!

have got 2 pandas left from 8 that i got a few years back, they look lonely, just the two of them sticking with each other.
