the other day i went to my moms petshop and took some money worts for my 4ft tank at home... after i put them in the tank and planted them, then 5 0r 6, 1-2 inch red worms dropped off the roots and floated into my gravel my angels nipped at one but the others burried themselfs in the gravel. my girlfriend was there at the time and screamed her head off. then i tried to find them in the gravel and yank them out but i could only find 2 and i uprooted half my tank.. took hours planting everything again. will these red worms hurt my angels? plecos? or am i fine?

    Hi Petah, welcome to AQ!

If they are red and the fish eats them, I would not worry.

Did your mum feed tubifex worms to the fish staying in the tank where you took the plan from?

I feed live tubifex and I sometimes get long red worms crawling out of the substrate. They are harmless and the fish will eat them if they atre dislodged into the water column. I guess they are tubifex worms, maybe the alpha worms...

    Hi Ppl,
Just a gentle reminder, please do not abuse the 'system'. Petah, firstly a very warm welcome to AQ. Secondly, it would best serve your interest if this post was in beginner's segment if it was genuinely a question. We would very much like to think that all visits to the AQ forum is a happy one, thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

    Cheers, have fun......
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

I believe he can trade with us, as long as its not 'live' goods. Anyways, welcome to AQ Petah.

Those worms you are referring to are flat and blood red (looks somewhat like a leech?) if it is then its safe, haven't quite figured what sort of a worm is that but I found one whilst doing a re-scape of my tank, don't think they're harmful.
