    Hello José,

What shrimp would you like to keep? May I suggest if this is your first shrimp tank that Cherry Shrimp could be the first occupant as they are very rewarding, they breed “like rabbits”, are also tolerant of environmental variation [mistakes], handle large water changes easily.

Keep the tank temperature about 26- 28, some java moss or plenty of places to hide and they will do well. Avoid fish initially until they multiply as they eat the young. Try to keep the pH slightly negative.

If there is enough plant matter then they will find food, but you can supplement with algae wafers or other fish food, but Cherry shrimp are not fussy and scavenge very well.

    Good Luck

    Rupert

Never use CO2 to control pH if that is the thing you want to lower. Use other methods instead as CO2 is used only to fertilize plants. I'm not sure what in the world the pH has to do with the critters health but keeping the water clean/well oxygenated/loads of variety in food would keep them happy and breed.

As Peter said CO2 is for the plants, as for Cherry Shrimp they are very tolerant and if your plants & moss are happy then they will be as well. Don’t worry too much about pH as long as it is relatively stable Cherry Shrimp will cope.

I have tanks with CO2 and without CO2 and again heathly plants =happy Cherry Shrimp

Thanks Peter and Ruppert! Your opinions is very important for me. You give me your sincere opinion and really help me. Generally in my country many people don't like to help each other and prefer keep their secret for themselves. They forget that if they help me, I can also help them. You show me that water quality is fundamental to breed shrimps and I'm certanly I can get it in all my thanks. I am a veterinary medicine professional and I like to learn a lot of my hobby! I have a lot of planted tanks and I have 70 different species of aquatic plants, I really love it!
