no way you are using 6mm. if it is braceless, probably should consider 10mm even.

ya, agree too. The thicker would be safer in my own personal view. as what hwchoy have said, should most probably consider 10mm

I made my own tank measuring 90x60x60 cm out of 10mm glass and I have slight bowing (about 3mm). I think 10mm glass should be OK because your height in only 40cm compared to my 60cm. Less volume therefore less pressure on the glass.
