ok maybe it isn't a monster but it sure isn't a pretty sight. Its this hairy worm like creature that is about 1.5 inches long, black in colour (im guessing those are juveniles), and they wrap themselves in two dead leaves to prevent predation by fishes.
What are all these creatures? I remove around 1 to 2 per day, any way to remove them? I don't have pictures because my camera is damaged. Sorry for the extra effort but I would appreciate any i.d of this creepy thingy.

Does it looks like something in the picture in this link: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=20872.

    1.5 inches, that's pretty huge!!

hm i took another look at it, its around 0.75 inches to be more exact. The thing about it is that it has no legs, and a tiny flipper looking thing at the end of its body, the hairs are white in colour, and the body is black, i don't suppose nymphs hide in two leaves "welded" together do they?

Hi Taikiat. I had an attck a couple of months ago too. Mine was green with segments and two flipper-like things at the end (tturned out to be the tail). They wriggled like worms and were fast movers. Had about five in my shrimp tank! All I can say is whatever you have, I'd remove them. If you are curious what they are, remove them and put in an isolation tank. My mistake was I waited too long to figure out what it was and they became better, stronger swimmers (read: hard to catch!)
    Psst...beware of the armless swordsman!

Those are aquatic insects of some sort. Might be dragonfly larvae, whatever larvae. Just remove... what are you waiting for?

i declared war on them already. Any leaves that move are taken out. My mom and i take shifts, so they should be gone in no time. ^^

Yup. Please so us a picture.

Used to have similar inhabitants in my shrimp tank. Added a small platy and it ate up almost all of them in a couple of days. Now using some small rasboras to prevent them from coming back.

I've won the war, I think. None of these creatures turn up anymore.

Fishfan: Fish control doesn't work for me. These critters I have get up to 3/4 the size of the rasboras I have, can't do anything with their petit mouths
