No vested interest. Just want to share what I've got.

I read the Product Review of the below weblink and said to myself 'yah right, bullshxt'. But curiousity got the better of me and I finally decided to part with some money to try out for myself.
    http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/inde...howtopic=49314

I bought 3 tubes of ATI Sunpro and 1 tube of ATI Superwhite (all 4ft long, 54W) late yesterday night. Had to purchase 1 tube of superwhite because there was no more Sunpro

Early morning today I installed all 4 tubes and within 5 min the water started to 'boil', with plants throwing out oxygen

Within 5hrs the O2 in water is easily confused with cloudy water. And I'm keeping slow growing plants like moss, ferns, fisiden, jap HG, anubias, red tiger lotus and very few stalks of stem plants and yet the plants produce O2 like no tomorrow

The situation went on for the entire day. I spent the last 2 hrs sitting in front of the tank watching the amazing effect.

Even my maid, who is not interested in my tank, also commented that the light is very bright today.

    Simply amazing product.

O BTW, Superwhite is OEMed by Osram in EU (and hence the Osram packaging but the print on the tube clearly shows ATI) and Sunpro is by ATI in Germany. I will try to show the picture when I have nothing better to do

In case you wonder, I'm not paid to publish this product review and paid regular price for the tubes. And I have just learnt that the chap jervismun bought the ATI light set at the regular price too.

If you want to know where to get it / price, do a search for 'ATI' at the merchant section of AQ.

    Hi Nicky,

Thanks for the ADA catalogue logistic arrangement. Too bad could not chat long with you on the CO2 'thing'.

Wow, upgrade already to T5 HO ? Did you DIY or reuse your existing T5 lighting ? Don't mind PM me the price and the LFS name/address. Thanks !

    Cheers

    Seems quite amazing...
Does the ATI tubes come in 24W?
So the Sunpro is 6500K and Superwhite is 10000k, I reckon...

My opinion is that 6,500k is whitish and 10,000k is bluish. Personally I prefer the 6500k and many plant enthusiasts seem to prefer this color temp for growing plants. I am currently using 4 x T5HO 24w made by Philips code name TL5 865 over my tank before which I have used T8's made by Philips too with same color temp (TLD 965 or 865).
Have also tested in time several combinations with 2700, 3000,4000 and eventually 10000k (a Philips made tube called Aquarelle designed - supposedly - for fresh water tanks) but none of them gave me such good growth rate like the 6500's.

I was told that Sunpro is 6500K and Superwhite is 8000K.
You can tell that the Superwhite is really white and no bluish and the Sunpro seemed a little yellow when put side-by-side. But they work for my setup, so what the heck..

OK lah.. the LFS is Aquamarin who sold me the tubes.

And I merely changed out the tubes from my existing set. Changing out the entire set was my original intent but the ATI set that is available in Singapore does not come with nightlight.

Forgot to mention something about this ATI light set.. if you stand with your eye at the same level of the light, you will not find it that piercingly glaring like other light set. It seemed that the reflector of the ATI light set is designed to focus all the lights downwards. You got to see it for yourself.. Aquamarin has the 2ft light set for their mini reef tank.

Re. Stand for ATI light set, I bet the LFS that sells the light set has the expertise to help make you a stand. For that matter many folks can do it for a fee.

You can do a search in AQ Merchant section to find out the price.

ATI T5 are well-known to be one of the best T5 lights available.
the premium prices as compared to other T5 tubes are well worth the money.

here's some links to Aquamarin's ATI offers (pls call to check latest price/availability though)

What setup are you refering to? I can't see the link..

I was told that some planted guy bought the ATI light set and had the intention to do a review. Did anyone see it anywhere?

Was referring to the AquaMarine's retrofit setup which comes in different colours. Like red and some other colours... And has attached moonlights... Were you using it or joe?

Some planted guy going to do the review? Cool... Maybe will do a google search and see if anything pops up...

I have bought the ATI tube for my new marine setup. Initially the cost was what prohibit me from getting it but after seeing what the ATI tubes has done on Aquamarin 2ft marine tank, I decided to get it. I have seen this marine tank running on mh before and the new lights that they used ( ATI ) looks even better! There's another moderator here who use 10 ATI tubes for his new setup. Another deciding factor is that the rate of decay for ATI T5 tubes are longer as I was informed that it takes around 18 months ( if I remember correctly ) until you need to change the tubes. Previously, you may need to replace a PL light every 9 months or so. This information is told to me by word of mouth and I do not have adequate proof. But since more Reefer are turning to this brand, I might as well join in the bandwagon!

I'm using 2 tubes of Sunpro on Solite.
    Too yellowish to my liking.
Will very much like to try the Superwhite next time.
Now, if the tubes indeed are going to last as long as Bro BFG mentioned, its going be a long wait!

I heard that ATI tubes does not come in 2ft or 24W.....wasted la!!!

    I'm thinking of getting the solite type 2, 2 x 24W
combi of Ocean White 10000K and planta 6500K, plus one LED....

actually considering RetroMoon but due to price and also the "legs" problem....

    Any advices?
