Hi, I have a 1ft cube tank with cherry and bee shrimps now. There's no filter so it basically a tank with stagnant water. I am worried about mosquito breeding in this tank.

What would you recommend as suitable tankmates for such a tank to prevent mosquito? I intend to breed the shrimps so i hope the tankmate would not eat the shrimplets.

Thought of adding an oto to 'clean' my tank wall. Would it eat up my shrimplets?

    Oto will not eat shrimplets.

If you have a fan, you shouldn't encounter mosquito problem.

As mentioned, Otos are fine with shrimplets. You can try boraras brigittae, they are also shrimplet safe!

I keep a few Otos in my CRS tank to keep the glass clean and to eat the leftovers.

Huh? Since when are Endlers called mosquito fishes?

Anyway, Endlers relish shrimp fries... I witnessed my Endlers hunting my cherry shrimplets...

If heavily planted, you can use Boraras (up to 10). There is no need for a filter if you plant adequately and control your stocking.... start low and add new livestock in stages....

i agree with Silane's bro point of view, if there's fan = movement on water surface, no mosquitoes would be able / want to lay eggs on the tank
