Hi guys, i've juz started a 2.5 feet tank with moss and going to add fauna in.

My question is, what fish type can co-habit with shrimps(meaning they wun eat them) ? And for my tank size, how many fish types can i keep, and how many fishes per specie ?

    Thanks for advice.

what fish types with shrimps has been discussed before
do a search around and you should find the thread
generally agreed is that only otos are confirmed shrimp safe
most fishes will eat a shrimp or if its too big, they will eat the shrimplets
also depends on if there are good hiding places for the shrimps

how many fish types isnt really an issue i guess
should be focusing more on fish compatability

as for how many, it really depends on your setup and regime
but i would suggest try out 20 fishes 1st
and don't add them all at one go
and acclimatise them to tank water well

Has anyone tried Threadfin Rainbows for a change? They have rather small mouths which I doubt can swallow a shrimp. Their 'sparring' rituals are also fun to watch.

Actually, I have a thumb of rule when it comes to fish and shrimps. If the fish takes live adult brine shrimp, chances are it will predate small shrimps/shrimplets.

For shrimps that are bigger than the fish's mouth can swallow, it will be touch and go. Even if they cannot swallow them, it doesn't mean they cannot nibble or take bites out of them. Your milage may vary.
