    Hi all,

Just wondering if spiky moss is easy to grow? I noticed quite a lot of sales for this moss and it looks nice.

My tank is 3 ft and lighting is 48w. Not planning to put CO2. Daily temp may go as high as 30 deg during the hottest months. Ave. temp is about 28 deg.

    Thanks for helping

doesnt require much lighting and don't need co2 either
water temp has to be cooler though
you can add a fan to cool down your water temp to and should do

i am selling if you interestd

This moss is too easy to grow and can tolerate temps of up to 31 Dgrees C. I'm able to harvest 1 tub of it a week, so you can imagine how fast they grow for a moss.

May I know what's your tank temperature, lights & does it get CO2 and Fertilizer? My impression is that spiky moss needs cooler water then Taiwan / Java. Thanks!

My Spiky Moss tank is set to 28 dgrees C. 144w of light over a 3x2x1 ft tank. They do get CO2 and very little ferts (mostly NO3 and PO4 only).

This is a Taxiphyllum sp. that does not really mind higher water temps. I have a mash of Flame moss that is in even cooler water but doesn't grow as fast. In my tanks, it is even faster than Taiwan/Java Moss.

WoW! 144W that's a lot of light. Anyway I've also just got some spiky moss from a bro here and will see how they do in my tank
