    hi all, i heard of the process of plants emerse then submerse, to prevent melting? how do we go about doing it? my downoi seems to be melting. pls help...

    You can't prevent it, it's inherent to the process. The emersed leaves must die off before the new submersed leaves can grow.

    Just to add something.

    I received my E.tenellus from Teo in Emersed form, and I planted them in without doing any trimming. I thought I would see all the emersed leaves rotting, while new submersed version would shoot out. The plants have been in my tank for about 10+ days now, and what in fact happen is that the submersed leaves transformed into submersed form. Rotting in my case was minimal. It is so interesting to obseved the broad leaves transformed into a thin leaves, and growing longer.

    i supposed some plants do melt, some dont?
