hi all, my jebo canister filter's flow rate is miserably low. i took out the propeller and cleaned it, it's flow rate becomes close to normal, but this only last for 2 days, it's back to the extremely low flow rate.
    it also becomes quite noisy.

Is this a sign of wear and tear (this filter used for 1.5 yrs already), and means that I should get a new filter?

Sounds like it to me. Have you tried cleaning the area where the propeller is? The cylindrical area where the propeller turns.

haha, this is the first time. Cleaned the hole where the propeller is plugged as well.
Guess it's goodbye for this filter isn't it? hee

Since we're on the topic of slow flowrate of canister filter, i have a question.
I've a ehiem 2228 which i've used for 9yrs plus, and the flowrate is slower (probably like a 2226) compared to when i first bought it despite cleaning the impellor and the hole where the impeller is plugged. I heard that changing the impellor will increase the flowrate.

Is this true? Don't want to buy a new filter cos that is the only complain i have.

hi all, i got my problem solved.

The rainbar (which is black and opaque) has some of it's holes jammed by snail shells. I cleaned them and the flow rate increased.
However, i think the rainbar is still restricting the full flow of the filter, so i bought a powerhead to power the external CO2 reactor, and simply connect the canister filter's output to the tank directly. Now running on full flow

    Hi,

Sometime it might be due to the tube hose (In/out) connected to the canister filter. Cos jelly like slime covered the interior wall of the tubing cause the flow somehow slow down. What we can do is to brush & flush out the slime. You will be able to see the diff.
