I have a mature CRS tank. Now stable with airpump and fan.

Can i replace the airpump with water filter?

    Will upset the environment?

    Now 3 CRS pregnant.

    Please advise.....thank you.......

Not too sure with what you mean by water filter. Do you mean the waterfall type filters that hang on from the tank?

Maybe you can phase in the hangon filter slowly. If the flowrate is adjustable then start at a low speed.

I think shouldn't be a problem. As the air pump does not carry any bacteria colony for filtering. But i think it's better set lower water level so that the movement of water from the over hang filter will dissolve air. unless you've enough aquatic plants producing oxygen.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
