Hi all, hope someone can help me. Just gotten my CRS and Cherry Shrimps. They look settled and happy in the 3ft tank, but problem is, I threw in a piece of the "Shirakura" pellet and they dun even smell it or taste it... In the end, the snails are the one squishing on it. What went wrong? They dun like "Shirakura"?

They'd rather pick my gravel and everywhere else in the tank for food.

Ooops... It's actually a Japanese Brand of CRS feed. And it's supposed to be good. It's like abalones for human. So now they are rejecting "Abalones" for "chicken rice".

But the chicken rice here refers to the micros in the tank wor... but I'm new to this CRS keeping lah... so not sure if it's sufficient for their colourations and nutrients. I'm just trying to provide them with the best environment and makan within my means. (Do I sound like a father?)

LOL.. no lah... not obssessed lah... Just tot that they're like fishes. Cos I've been breeding bettas and such... For fishes, if you dun feed, they'll eventually die off yeah? In a matter of 1-2 weeks. So tot that would apply to shrimps as well. But if they are able to live off whatever is in the tank, I think I'll let them be... Maybe next week, I'll drop another pellet again to test. Anyway, thanks for the highlight bro.

Give your shrimps time to adapt. And don't depend on Shirakura pellet much for the coloration of your crs. Others like the temperature, water quality..etc plays more important role.

Yeap, don't forget, the shrimps are new to the tank and like fishes, they do get stressed by the new environment.

Alrighty guys. Guess the shrimps need more time... Thanks so much for the advices. As for Shirakura pellets, not depending much on it. Will keep on monitoring the water parameters for the next 1 month or so. I think temperature shouldn't be a prob unless my chiller breaks down on me
