riccia is a floating moss, so trouble is keeping it to the mesh. i coat a rock with riccia and tie a net over it, but even then the riccia works it's way to the surface once it grows long enough. i have to rety every few months

i i know.. i only wan to know if they can grow well.. or even pearl in my tankthanks anyway

no it wont grow well
no co2 light isnt high enough

i will be diy-ing a Co2 in abt 2 more weeks time.. so i need to know meanwell.. can riccia grow first..

Bro, I've experienced what u mentioned for my 2ft before and it lasted only about 2-3 weeks. In my opinion, need high light + co2 to grow well. U need to use netting (can be bought in lfs) and placed it over the riccia on mesh/stone and tie with fine fishing string. alternatively, if your lighting not strong enough, u can leave it to float on water first.

13watt PL light good for riccia? 1ft cube

Riccia is a one way ticket to serious blue green cyanobacteria algae infestation.
Ever seen riccia clumped in blue green or hair or brush algae and their decomposition feeds the algae?
Riccia thrives best with added CO2. Your lighting doesn't seem enough and to enhance the growth, keep your tank's temperature cool...![]()

can recommand me what the watt of the light should be for best growth of moss and riccia? and must it be a PL light?
With a height of 1.5ft, a PL light should be sufficient. Personally, I was using a 2 X 36W then... good enough.

my tank are 1ft x 1ft x 1ft.. not 1.5ft height.
Opps... its a 1ft cube. Was thinking of my own tank and the thought was produced into writing. Well, if my 1.5ft height works... yours should be ok.

talking abt lighting.. reminds me of my own PL light..
my light seems to get dimmer and dimmer..
why is it like that?

If I'm not mistaken, lfs recommends PL tubes to be replaced every 6 to 9 months.
