hi bro and sis of AQ. i had kept all 3 species of this shrimps..
Which of the above 3 type of shrimps you think is the hardiest?
from what i know, i believe all of you will say Cherry
    tiger shrimps

although i only kept 1 ( 1 die because kena sucked into filter) the only tiger shrimp had been with me for the time since i had kept shrimps, almost 3mths tiger strips become clear and black, red tail and nose too.. had transpher it many times, around tank with totally differnt temp and pH
it still survive and very active

    Cherry shrimps

maybe i have no luck with this shrimp, but i find it the most hardiest to keep out of all this 3 type..
i bought about 8 cherries from OTF(pasir ris farmway)
all came out very red, as they are known for their red cherry shrimps
the shrimps after few weeks, all wipe out due to a metal lead weight became rusty. that time, i kept 1 tiger, 8 cherry and 5 crs(c grade) in my tank. only 1 crs and 8 cherry dead. 4 crs and 1 tiger still doing fine.

    CRS
i had kept 5 crs( grade C) in my tank housing 1 tiger and 8 cherries together.. i find that they are much more active den the cherries and dun tend to hide alot.
i kept them in a tank's temp on 26-28C and no ADA soil but with lots of moss and 1 hang on filter on a 1ft cube tank they survive well and always first to atk the hikari algea waffer when i feed them.. cherries die first when a metal lead weight was rusting and i didnt noticed it because it was hidden in the gravel.. CRS in the end still did not die but 1 young guy died.. but due to the number of cherries dieing, i decided to give up shrimps for a monent. gave all my shrimps(4 crs, 1 tiger)
to my uncle having its planted tank in the office
bro and sis, what do you guys think?
btw, this sat i will be setting up a filterless small nano tank(20cmx10cmx20cm(LxBxH)) with ADA, moss and shrimps inside.. no filter at all.. intend to try again all 3 species.. starting with tiger and cherry as they wont cross.. but tiger will cross with CRS. thanks

to me, cherries are the hardiest, with tigers coming in second. I only kept 1-2 crs before, but they all died.

Anyway I like diamond shrimp better

Looks like my crs is doing better than my cherries too. Although they dont breed. Might be the low water pH. Cherries are sensitive especially when gravel is disturbed.

funny enough...my CRS also seems to do better then the cherries. If i do minor rescape, some cherry will die instead of the CRS.
Althought i find this most illogical....

    Any bro have similar experience?

For my case, when i make some changes in the tank, my crs is the one that always have casualty, the cherries are ok.
Very good luck for you guys that no crs casualty.

I have yamato, malayan, orange, cherry, sakura, tiger, bee, ninja and now CRS in my planted tanks all introduced at different stages. However, those that survived the initial stages and I find hardies should be cherries and malayan.

When they cross, what will the offsprings be like?
Has anyone done the cross-breeding before?
