Hi folks, following from the other thread, I am wondering how many AQ members have submitted their entries for this year ADA contest? Hope there are more entries this year from AQ members and wishing you all the best.

It will be great to see the pictures of your entries. To start the ball rolling, mine is here:

Maurice.. hope you dont mind that i linked your picures here directly. It lessens people from jumping threads and can just view directly... if you rather not the pictures be shown here and only in your thread, let me know i'll change it back.

Anyway, i submitted this year as well...something more conventional and whats more, its a holding tank..haha...don't think it'll do too well becuse i myself have issues with it but anyway here it is.

Fauna : Hyphessobrycon elachys, Rasbora spilocera, Pseudotocinclus sp., Otocinclus cocama, caridina sp.

Plants : Anubias nana "gold", Anubias nana "mini", Fissidens fontanus, Vesicularia montagnei, Taxiphyllum sp., Cryptocoryne sp., Microsorium sp., Hygrophila sp. "araguia", Ludwigia arcuata, Glossostingma elatinoides, Eleocharis parvula, Eleocharis sp., Vallisneria nana.

Title : Hayaku! Kitsune no yomeiri e iku (translated means : Hurry to the foxes wedding, read up on japanese folk lore on what a foxes wedding means)

Hi Justin, great to hear from you.

A very nice tank you have. Very neat and it exudes a calming effect. Very suitable title also, can see that the fish are hurrying to go somewhere. haha. I am sure your tank will score high mark

    Hi zenscape

Very nice layout, very close to ADA style. But you not submitting this photo to ADA 2007 right? guess you use too high ISO and not enough light from surrounding. The image turn out full with noise.

I know it is hard to get nice and clear photo with fish capture clearly without proper setup, I use ISO 100 and fish become blur...but tank images very clear.

Why not? singapore always only like 30 entires only every year even though the actual number in the contest goes up and up..strange hor? Even though it is a free entry competition..people here always have some sort of a Kiasu complex.."so if cannot win submit for what" kind of thinking...
But seriously, its a hobby and a passion.. just submit because you want to... doesn't really matter if you win or loose or your tank sucks...put in effort and submit because its your hobby and what you love to do... somehow... people just can't seem to accept this concept. You don't have to be no.1/the best/good in everything... its okay just to enjoy the hobby.
By the way.. the tank is taking on nicely Ronald..

I agree with Justin. The contest is a good chance for us to gauge where we stand in our layout through the eyes of professional judges. Its for pure fun and a source of motivation for improvement. Hope that more Singaporeans will take part in the contest to boost up this hobby here.

Hii, thanks for the advice on photography. The last picture is my entry this year. Where's yours?? I remember last year this time you volunteered to take pictures for my tank and I am still grateful for that nice gesture. I said I needed one more year to polish up the skill. But last year came and went and I still didn't learn anything..haha

Ronald, nice tank Your cardinals schooled very well.

Still waiting and hope to see more entries submitted by AQ members

Here is mine... I just submitted a photo because the tank has been decomm with my moving places, and no time to set a proper one in so short time. Well, just to contribute to participation in the contest.

    Enchanted woods

Yeah, the filters are there, the glass pane cleaner still there, but since i had no other pictures, i'll just submit that one. No intention to compete, just to contribute hopefully.

    Regards
    Christophe

thanks....yeah i agreed with Ranmasatome....Singaporean are just so "realistic" at times. Well, i guess thats what our education system and kaisu parenting had mould us into.... "only the best or confirm can win situation then can take part to compete" mentality. Sigh!!

PS: Every layouts here are so well done....good luck everyone...

    Hii,
Its a pity you didn't submit the photo for the contest. It looks great, whether with rotala green or not.

sorry for the misunderstanding.. I did submit on 30th May .. and last min 31st send another one in for replacement. So this is the final one.

Cause I submited and notice a foreground got a driftwood with fissiden forgot to take out ..

waste a lot time to take out all the moss wall and filter pipe just for another photo shoot...

haha, i give you a new one as i work if you want...hehe,...btw, i have given your 3 feet tank to someone very friendly, and he has been kind to thank me very much for that gesture... as if your 3 feet tank will never be neglected as it changed owner... YOu took great care of it, i did the same, and a new owner usually will take greater care of a newly acquired tank.
