the solenoid will heat up when switched on.
some heat will transfer to the solenoid valve, thus, heating it up.
are you are facing any problems that causes you to consider changing your solenoid or solenoid valve?

not facing any problem, just worry about the excess heat.

there was another thread on this recently, and I found adding heat sink is interesting idea. I end up adding one to my own![]()

i used to own another solenoid before, its not as hot as my current one.
hope nothing happens

ensure sufficient ventilation to allow heat to be convected away.
if you still worry, change the solenoid to a german-made one. costs more though.

if you scared of the solenoid melting, go to mr chan at NA to get your solenoid repalced. I just replaced mine as it melted. Mr chan assured me the new one wun give me such problems.![]()

think will make a trip down soon.
thanks

Hi guys
Just wanted to ask some questions
For regulator most people prefer manual or with solenoid or which is better?
How much does a soleonid regulator cost at NA.. can pm or email me the price?
My solenoid got some problem when it turn on the psi meter on the right keep dropping and when i switch off the power and it stop dropping. Thinking of changing and still deciding whether to get a manual or with solenoid regulator.
Need some advice.
Thanks

Oh all you have to do is get those very thin double side scroll tape, prefer the better ones like 3M (hold them in place else the lousy one either doesn't stick well or will dislodge after a while).
Tape in on the side of the solenoid face (supposing to be the largest surface area position) and follow by the heat sink. (Try look around Sim Lim, there's some very cute size and design.
And yes i also notice those China/ Tawain made are slight hotter then the one from US. Could be how the initial core are design differently.
Have fun, don't get burn
Alex
Won't the double side tape melt since its the intermedia between the heat sink and solenoid?
A pic of the attachment would speak volumes .... thanks![]()

No worries, if it melt, that's even better, better adhesion mah!(as long the double side tape are not too thick, then it should be alright)
Pictures, wow got to wait! Cause the tank and taiwan solenoid with heat sink is in my parents place...only after this weekend, ok?

Normal double side tape is insulator, instead use the double side tape specially made for CPU head sink. You can get it from Sim Lim.
