Are you refering to preserved specimens? If so, I have a Papilio ulyssellus.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

it is illegal to bring a net into the nature reserve. Why collect specimen? capture them with your camera and leave nature as it is

unlike up north, SG does not have many places to net butterflies, urban ones are common, parks are also off limits

yeah..i know.. but i am speaking comparatively. Compared to other insects... besides dragonflies...its just a little bit more troublesome.

err...simply speaking.. other insects just catch and dump into bottle.. then go home and kill and pin...

butterflies...well... need to carry envelopes around.. then after killing.. need to tape wings down on that board... then have to look after scales on wings.. then sometimes fingers all dirty..haha... i mean... its not really hard la..and i don't mind it myself..just that sometmes really no mood to do it man..haha..

You kill the insects? Well, beetles and dragonflies are bout the same with butterflies, you still need to set them

actually.. for identification purposes... don't really need to set beetles. Unless you want to display then need to set. For butterflies, you have to set them to pin them. Dragonflies..well.. are even worse than butterflies...need to preserve the colour in acetone...sian...
