Try this: Water in -> Ceramic Rings -> Coarse sponge -> Other biomedia -> Fine wool -> Water out

it's how eheim recommends their canister filters have the media arranged and i think it works well

Put the ceramic ring in the centre.

And kindly refrain from using SMS Abbreviation. We strongly frown on that.

    Thanks

    Mine is
water in -> sponge -> wool -> wool -> biohome
The reason is small debries might block the biohome pores causing it to be less efficient or reduced surface area. These layers arangement if I remember corectly was written on the biohome box.

Been using this layering method eversince god knows when!
Not sure whether if this is the most efficient way of layering though?

I am a fan of eheim's media and have always stuck to eheim's filter media recommendations. For me its mech filtration(ehfi mech), followed by coarse sponge, then bio filtration(ehfi substratepro) and finally wool, before the water gets back into the tank. Somehow i think that the finer media should be at the final compartment so that the canister filter can get a proper and even flow throughout the filter.

I go by high biological filteration these days.
Course filter media -> Lava Rock -> Fine Filter Wool -> Ehiem substratepro -> NA Bamboo Charcoal. Fine filter wool to clean up the debris so that the substratepro and bamboo charcoal doesn't get clogged.

Apologies if i'm deviating from the main topic...
Just wanna find out how efficient bamboo charcoal as compared to the standard active carbon more commonly found in our LFS?
Did anyone here notice an improved output when comparing the 2?
