The boss from NA ever mentioned that inject to much might trap in the filter, anyway i am aware of the situation and damage the canister so i use a old cheap atman to try out. I was wondering if it work well, there won't be buying and selling of reactor right? so i think this method should have some back fire.

KH is maintained at 5 right? Because I just wanna see the CO2 level in your tank.
Actually I'm using your method formerly as a way to inject CO2. I have since switched to a flipper instead, which gives me pretty good CO2 diffusion, at PH6.4, KH maintained at 5.

I use the sera brand and the color shown slight green should be around 6.5-6.8 Bro carlfsk u did used this method? Is there a side effect that why u had stopped? At ph6.4 it seem better by the way can post picture how you lay out and how it look like?(i only used diffuser before not sure what is a flipper)

you can search "nutrafin natural CO2" and you can see what the flipper is. It is something like staircase for CO2 buble to climb up.




Hey kiv, I used the method formerly. The CO2 is injected into the cannister through the cannister inlet tube via a 't-joint'. The outlet of the cannister is linked to the inlet of my chiller. The water, with the CO2, went into the reservoir of the chiller. I suppose there're some diffusion of the CO2 with the water in the chiller reservoir. And from the outlet of the chiller, the water went back to the tank.
I gave up this method as I have since used a dedicated pump (eheim1250) for the chiller, as I have gotten a higher capacity chiller, which requires a higher flowrate for better efficiency. Thus, with the CO2 going into the cannister alone, without going through the chiller reservoir, I realised there're very fine bubbles gushing out from the outlet of the cannister into the tank. This I reckon the diffusion going through the cannister alone is not good enough. I have not seen any fine bubbles at all using the old method, that is CO2 through cannister, then through chiller rteservoir, then back into the tank.
I got no pictures of the setup. But I guess it's simple enough to visualise...unless I'm really that bad in putting it across.![]()




As for the flipper, try to use the Dennerle brand flipper. Their efficiency is definitely much better than the Nutrafin's : ).
There is a replica in the mkt, which cost only a fraction of the Dennerle's price. Looks efficient too.
I have another tank planting hairgrass, KH5, and PH is 6.2 when CO2 is 'on' and the plants are bubbling 'ferociously'. If you check the CO2 chart, you should know how high the CO2 concentration is...BTW, I'm using 2 36watt PL tube, 1 new and the other tube is very old till it's yellowish. The tank is 15inch cube.

Bro carlfsk i did not see any fine bubbles from my outlet. I figure out you did not use a atomizer? It did helps to break down before being feed in to canister so less chances of caught trapped between filter/media. I was wondering you were using a canister and a pump to channel water to chiller, did you used sump?![]()




I am now using a dedicated pump the channel water into the chiller. The cannister is not linked to the chiller at all now.
The PH and KH should be used to indicate the CO2 concentration in the water. Whether fine bubbles can be seen or not is another issue, just unpleasant to me in the eyes.
