    Hi all

First, need to thank Simon and Benetay profusely for this outing... I am rather happy with the pics. May not be good for some of you but I am happy with it.. 1st time i thought some of the pics turn out well.. The last time I went to the same location, I went to the wrong side and did not know the Butt garden was on the other side. Have to thank Simon for pointing insects and holding tripod for me....

Here are my pics. Shot with D3 and 105mm VR.

I checked the image size and it's the same as those that I have posted...This is not the 1st time it happened. I wonder why...

Maybe you can upload it into http://photobucket.com/ and post it back here. At the rate that we are taking pictures, our AQ photo gallery will run out of space anyway.

    Jeff!!

Presentation very professional now! With border, accompanied text and consistent presentation! More importantly!!!!!! NIKON D3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers,

p.s. Images should be below 200k to be uploaded into AQ gallery. So the system was talking about file size, not image size.

Use save for web function in Adobe Photoshop and there is a slider for you to decided the exact image size you want.

Hi Jeffery, sorry for not replying the PM, I went out shortly after the post. btw, it's Merv or Mervis, not Mervin..

The presentation looks very good now, with good font and contrast. I do feel the top and bottom font alignment makes the balance of the whole picture a bit heavy to the left. How about aligning the bottom text to the right to make it balance up..

Walau, don't play play. Wish I can at least fondle one right now.

Pictures are good Jeffrey, did you use flash? If you did, you might try turning up the power a bit next time and increase the shutter speed and make the aperture smaller too.

This would help you darken the background and increase DOF.
    My two cents.

personally I prefer a lighter weight for the text.

how come the shutter speed is at 1/60s? shouldn't it be at x-sync speed?

Jeff, nice job. At least you getting better shots with better background compared to the last outing. However, since you using a tripod, I think you need more practise on getting the subject tack sharp. Remember to focus on the eye of the subject, everything else can be blur but not the eyes.

don't get disappointed with my comments, I rather harsh with it sometimes. But there is always room for improvement and that is the only way to strive for better results. We started as a beginner once, so it is a passing phase

I have done some PSing on the great mormon (pardon the poor PS, used an unfamiliar photoshop element on my company's laptop)

Agree with Simon's comments. A little more DOF for the left wing tip to be sharp as well would have been great.

The PS is very subtle. What did you do Simon?

I like a bit more contrast, so the way I look at it is probably a bit more different. So it's a matter of personal taste. [also everybody's monitor will produce a different colour]

this is the one I meant, why only 1/60s.
