after upgrading my agas from a 1ft tank to a 1.5 ft tank, the female finally spawned...but i notice that she doesn't seem to be guarding the eggs or tending to them or fanning them or anything like tt.the tank has only her and a male, could it be that she sees no threat hence her behaviour? as for water changes, should they be as regular as 10% once every 2 days and 50% once a week cos tts my usual regime for my apistos...
    thanx

she doesnt fan or dun need to do it continously 24/7, fanning is to
apply fresh water supply to the eggs and of coz oxygen as well. I have
seen some of my male fishes doing it instead of the female.

the absent of other dither fishes will 'sometimes' mean they do not
display their parental instinct. but she will still guard her eggs/frys
from the male. But it doesnt mean she dun care, it could be a lack of
    experience on her part.

water condition shld be left at the best unchanged or little change.
fry is weak and prone to changes in condition. u can change water to
reduce nitrate levels, just be careful not to suck out the frys by
mistake. There are articles on the Net, saying that water change is
good for fry, becoz bigger fry gives off a certain homone chemical
into the water to suppress the others
