male. Female should be identified by its black ventral fins.

Seperate this piece from the male. If it is a sneaker male, very soon you will find it showing the distinct male features.

Male to me because females do not have the metallic blue/green sheen on their bodies.

Guessed male too. Ventrals looked too long to be female.

Guess it's male, couldn't be a female as it lacks all the female characteristics.

    Cheers!

just to side track a bit this Trifasciata male flaring with its head facing downward and display all its fins,a bit different from other Apisto breed, is it normal?

there are various ways of flaring and which way the apisto prefers depends on the individual fish (not the species). my Ap. elizabethae "Super Red" choose to do full frontal gill flares 90% of the time. only once in a long long while will i see a fin/tail flare. the deceased Ap. bitaeniata "Tefe Bauna" on the other hand, loved to do full fin/tail flares accompanied with very fast tail flicking motion to whack against the mirror to intimidate his reflection. the Ap. sp. "Rio Mamore" just liked to hide and flare fins only from afar.

that's the beauty of apistos to me...each individual fish behaves very differently from the others regardless of species, locality etc.
