Hello! I recently found A snail making his rounds in my tank was completely covered in the wonderful stuff we call Coralline Algae I know some hate it but I happen to love the way it looks.

So I took the poor fella out and gently scraped his shell into A small dish filled with tank water and placed him back in his home. Then I turned off all powerheads and skimmer to, and spread the small bits of algae on my rocks.

My calcium is at 440 ppm and im using purple-up. Heres my question...

When will I start seeing Noticable growth of coralline on my rocks?

    !Danke schon!

How about your lighting regime and kH levels? and how long has your tank been running?

I noticed my coralline bloom began around 2weeks after my tank setup with 480ppm Ca and 11dkH with 2xATI AquaBlue Special and 2xATI BluePlus.

Coralline algae will grow in your tank with sufficient flow and water quality for suitable marine life. No need to scrape it from your snails shell.
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.

You might want to add some strotium to your water. I didn't notice any new growth in mine until I added half an ml of strotium and saw pretty purple blooming and it's now slowly but surely beginning to spread.
