My 3 koi are getting too big for my indoor fountain . I am thinking of giving them a new life by freeing them into some reservoir or temples ponds or some place where they swim free and grow bigger? Anyone out there lives in a nice house with a garden pond ? I know putting fish into reservoir can be a serius offence . Any advice out there ?

Last I know the offence carries a $10,000 fine. Now that is serious!:P

If you really cannot find any temples, can maybe approach Bottle Tree Park? I saw a pretty big pond there where they kept some huge fishes there If not, I think some LFSs might be more than willing to 'adopt' them?

I think hwchoy has a big pond. Maybe he can help you. Releasing it into the wild will not work. They will die of starvation in most cases. Please don't do it.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

If you were to put this up for adoption FOC in Marketplace, I think there will be plenty of people queueing up for it.

Let bros here adopt the koi. But do make sure the person adopting has a big pond or tank.

Thanks for all the advice . Now I face resistance from those at home to let them go . Thay are kind of adorable .....fat and lively . But its a matter of time they out grow that little fountain . Till then I will revist this topic again .
