Officially diagnosed with Multiple Tank Syndrome, along with TMP (Too Many Pets) Disorder, much to my mother's dismay.

Hi, am 23 and currently into my childhood hobby of keeping fish. I think it's this innate need for control that women have that either drives them to a) keep insanely neat houses, b) keep insanely docile boyfriends or c) keep fish (which, let's face it, are less maintenance than boyfriends and is an insanity all by itself).

The madness ended some years ago when goldfish of mine kept dieing because I stupidly did not know how to maintain a tank (think 100% water changes, rinsed filter foam under tap water, etc). It started up again with the setting up of a small tank for my classroom (teacher) and progressed to a 2 foot planted in my dining room, a nano reef in my room and a 3 foot tall in the living room, still in the process of cycling.

Anyway, just completed one of those cement foam backgrounds for Papa Tank in the living room and scouting for pretty plants to hopefully make an Amazonian biotope. Hope to glean some good advice from the more experienced hobbyists. Thanks alot!

PS: In case anyone's wondering, I have the following animals in my house: 18 fish, 3 snails, a hamster, a dog and a little brother (jk jk. He's in the army so it's partially true).

    Welcome to AQ.

I will say your MTS is only at mild stage, you will find more severe cases here in AQ.

Do share with us pictures of your tank.

You are in good company for MTS here in AQ!

Wait, are you calling your brother an animal?!?
Sorry I'm a little daft at this time.
You must be a literature teacher...

At first, I thought your tank got infested with "Malayan Trumpet Snails" ...

Anyway, welcome! Almost everyone in AQ suffers from the same MTS. So you got a good support group here.

Yes, its kind of true. NS brings out the animal in us. We don't bathe, roll in mud, eat, sleep, poop out in the open.
Hi there, I also suffer from MTS. My living room has a humidity problem from the tanks. My wife is wondering why the furniture is moldy. I blame it on lousy carpentry.

Lol clever XD. Glad to know I'm in similarly conniving and damaged company lol. It's like an AA group for tankaholics. And no, I'm not a lit teacher, I teach wee kiddies in P1, actually. My class is full of 30 little angels, and then I wake up.

    Anyway, here are some pictures of my tanks. Not very recent. My planted is somewhat denuded because I gave some plants to an uncle. I need my loach from school - damn snails destroying my plants D:< You can also see the tank in my living room that's my pride and joy, yet still remains empty because I got tired hauling buckets and have yet to get a hose >_<;

Not AA at all. AA implies wanting to give up the habit. A lot of the guys here don't want to give up and in fact enjoy being poisoned. You will see what I mean.

    Hi Kristen,
It's a pleasure to read a well written post, dosed with shewed humor Welcome to the forum and I'm sure we're all looking forward to more of your little conniving adventures.

I, for one, am recovering from MTS. It's painful, but possible. Only problem now, it's a case of MPS... or one parrot too many! LOL!!!!
I'm back & keeping 'em fingers wet,
