I am currently using the plastics ones and they dont float. Bought mine from c328 at 1m for about $6, comes in black/green colors. However, i usually fold mine instead of using fishing line to secure them. The aluminium ones sold at NA are pretty good, but they only come in small sizes. Besides, aluminium wire mesh tends to "accidentally" scratch my glass walls.

Ya agree with torque6 as i have just tied 1 piece abt the size of 10cm by 6cm. It don't really float by if u put it near the outlet of the filter it will drift along with the current

Ya but it does drift like what I said as it is too light, you just need to put 3 to 4 grain of sand to stop it drifting or put a stone at the corner of the mesh Cheers

Bought mine from Mrs toh, with the weight of the mesh + moss attached, it should sink. If you dont want to risk it, just get the aluminium ones.
