Hi all AQ Members,

Bumps into AQ forum while googling for planted tank forum. Been surfting the forum for quite some time after deciding to start a planted tank. That's after decommissioned my marine set-up for almost 1.5 years ago.

So guess it's the right time to say a BIG HELLO to all AQ members

I am very new to planted set-up. Initially was torned between going back to marine or venturing into setting up a planted tank. Finally decided on setting up a planted discus tank instead, partly due to the fact that I am a discus lover myself (kept over 30+ discuss in my secondary school days) and partly due to lower maintenance and running cost compared to marine set-up.

Will be starting my tank journal real soon, all constructive critiques are wellcome. Hoping to learn from all the experts here.

Starting a journal of your setup is an excellent idea.
May I suggest wild discus too?
For planted discus setup check out "Simon", "StanChung" and "grey_fox".
These are the guys that sucked me back into the hobby of fishkeeping with their tanks.

Hi Bro celticfish, thanks for the info Wild Discus, this has never cross my mind before, interesting. Now I am trapped deeper into the "darkside"

Been almost two weeks since my first post, no much of progress except I have bought some equipments from fellow forumers here in AQ. Still have not decides on the plant type, layout etc etc. Must find time to take photo of my tank and start a tank set-up journal to help keep track of the progress.

Any bro here has any good sites to recommend (besides AQ) for newbie to do up all the necessary reading?
