Hi Guys, my tweezer is showing signs of rusting, am worried if the rust will affect the water quality as well as the fishes/shrimps? Please advise? Thanks!

I doubt it will cause any problems.

Hey, if you bury it under the substrate, it may even be a good source of Fe.

Shouldn't be harmful as it is freshwater. And the contact with water is only such a short period.

For my planted tank, I used staples for the moss wall. And the hundreds of staples are rusting in the background. Rust has iron which is good for plants too. Some aquarists, like Tom Barr, even put in iron filings.

Copper very bad for invertebrate no matter freshwater or seawater.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

If iron is inorganic and can't be utilized by plants, aren't the gulu Tom Barr is doing something xx by adding iron filings, which is mentioned by another hobbyist?

Anyone can verify the 2 mentions, that is iron is inorganic and can't be utilized by plants and Tom Barr adding iron filings?

Just wanted some facts to get things right.

erm. Guys. I pretty sure bro dkk08 isn't going to leave his rusty tweezers inside his tank as iron supplement to his plants.
