Very neat although the background seems to appear sparse. Some good trimming techniques will bring out the full potential in the background.

    Thanks!

Both plants are quite common. The mid ground plant is called blyxa japonica and the tall hairgrass at the back is called....tall hairgrass (Eleocharis vivipara)

The vallisnera spiralis to the left seems to be growing much more slowly than the other background plants. It is the spiral version so I don't know whether it can grow all the way to the water surface or not...

Also, I am pretty crap at trimming plants. Hopefully there are good guides or references out there.

i guess once the vallisnera sprialis grown tall enough to cover the background it would be superb!

i also want to change my lightings to >3WPG

    Hey WiNd08,

Careful with too high of a light intensity as if you do not keep up the CO2 and nutrients to match, algae could gain a foothold an ruin the entire aquascape.

Your BGA problem lies with circulation.

Nice progress! Would have looked better if the plants filled up the background better or you have a black Oyama paper at the back.

But I'm sure that your guest will have many nice compliments of your tank! Great job!

    Thanks for the kind comments

The v.spiralis have stopped growing at half the height of my tank. I was expecting them to cover the enitre height. Maybe I should have gotten the non-twisty version.

I was wondering whether I should just "tall hairgrass" the entire back of my tank. The only thing stopping me is the insane pruning needed.
