congrats. awaiting to see the growth process
very unexpected spawn.. female turned yellow 1 week ago. but this few days have been finding the eggs. no matter where i searched. i just cant find it.
so thought that its just the female turning horny.. today was getting ready to sell my plants.. found a patch of debris.. take a close look.. turn out to be the fries! had a good shock. now, not ready for any thing. tank messy messy. no food prepared(only have decap brine shrimp) i do hope the fries pull through.
now there goes my cory comm plan.
but well.. im very happy this pair spawn though..

congrats!!!
hope that the parents are not shocked and eat the frys..
thanks. the fries are free swimming already. but can still see their egg sac.. so i guess this few days they won't eat any food. mean while i can find the brine shrimp hatchery dish and feed them live BBS.. will be removing the daddy also.
congrates....bro...beware they will soon breed like rabbits
thanks bro. sadly, i will only keep the fries.. once the fries grow up a little i have to sell the pair.. space constrain...
anyway. mama have brought her children to the moss area for a rest..
papa fish very auto.. hiding under his driftwood.. i think i will remove him a few days later.. to another tank.. worried that he might eat the fries.

nice....
cheers!
when theres any doubt, theres no doubt...
one day, a mother of a batch of apistogramma fries bring her children out to play.
" is this safe for my kids?"
"weeeee lets check this out brothers and sisters!"
Take cover children! i saw a big monster(me) infront of me!"
"hide among the moss!"
lol.. sorry but im too bored.. so make a story out of it..
anyway heres the area the mummy is guarding the fries.. the pot i just add in yesterday to aid the female in guarding the fries.. but end up the male slept inside it and so i mange to remove the male easily.

So cute!!!
Jervis is starting to feel paternal!
update : its been 35days since the fries were free swimming.
pretty big now.. around 1cm.
so far theres no deaths.. i think they are stable already.. tank water pH 6.0 - 6.2.
update fries are 42 days old, now heavy feeding and more WC, they have grown faster!
i think i have a alpha male, reaching 2cm long, saw him chasing the other apistos.
the others are about 1.5cm now.
