Looking forward to seeing a HG lawn!
wah, how many tries already? Thought we started on our nano project at the same time ?
the rock seems too small for the scape using hairgrass! they will cover up the rock in time
are there some stains on the glass?![]()
Light is 13 watt PL.
thank you!! hoping Uncle A or Uncle B don't visit me first..
many liao lor... can see the link in the first thread.. just checked, I started this tank on 18th Mar 2008
Humm... yeah a bit small but don't have the right size of rock at the moment.. will see how the plants grow .. have 3 bigger rocks at home but have not try them yet.
Yes stains on the glass... did not do a thorough cleanup when I remove the old gravel previously.. :P
I have added in 4 cherry shrimps 2 days ago, hope that they can survive inside. They look quite big for the scape![]()
The tank is pretty well ... His cherry shrimp will be very nice in here.
Hey Bro, for rocks can try www.mizuworld.com, I get my rocks from them. Very nice!
Thanks.. has been wanting to try them but I am also cutting budget.. so will try to reuse whatever I have..
HG turning brown but can see many new shoots hate the browning effect though....wonder what went wrong.. shrimp did not last long.. sianz...
thinking of redoing the tank again.. :P
Bro, concentrate on stabilizing the water parameters before adding shrimps. Test your water regularly and correct whatever that needs to be corrected. For plants, the simple three steps. Light, nutrients and CO2.
Most important thing, do not give up! I am struggling with my tank too, aquascaping is a hobby that is taught by experience, everyday with your tank is one step further into this hobby.![]()
No point cutting and running if your tank is failing. Starting a new tank will jsut go the same way because you havnt identified the problem, learn and rectified the mistakes. So a new set-up is almost certain to end the same way.
Its one big learning curve, and thats what makes this hobby so interesting.

Newly planted HG will alway turn black, that's why it's trimmed before planting so the new ones will cover the black stubs.
You can if you dare to fail - Stan Chung
this tank fail again.. HG turned brown...
now trying dry start with HC and crypt wenditt green, spiky moss and Downoi...
sigh... wrong layout... HC is behind and crypt is infront... hence the crypt blocking the HC...

How on earth did you manage to put them back to front? Looks great none the less!

I suppose with the slope it could, now could being the difinitive word here, it could grow sort of level in general. If so, possibly creating a slightly unusual new method. The theory could work, actually achieving a visibly pleasing and coherent set-up with it is a different matter. I look forward to seeing how this grows inGood luck with it!
