Did you bought the hair grass from LFS? if so, nothing to worry about, it is mostlikely converting from emerse to submerse.
my tank is relatively new.. around 5 days old.
planted the jap HG in, and it's turning yellowish.
is it the cause of one of the below factors?
-not enough light
-not enough CO2
-wrong pH
and please advise how to tackle each of the situation.
Thanks!

my friend gave it to me.. or couldt it be that the temperature is not right? not cold enough?

I still think that it is adapting to new environment.
Anyway start with the detailwhat substrate/gravel do you use? how big is the tank? how many watt is our light? fert dosing? CO2 level?
i use ADA Amazonia II. it's a new pack. so i guess the pH is around 4.5. nvr really went to measure though.
tank is 2 ft with 55W P light.
i dont use fert
and regarding CO2 i'm using CO2 tablets as yet..
Bro, let the tank mature, the HG also need time to adjust to new water parameters.

Qng,
Try not to break up your threads, you seem to have threads everywhere asking similar things..
sorry ts can i use ur thread cos i oso asking same qn and i donwan to start another thread with same qn.
hi guys, my jap hg oso turn yellow. mine is a low tech tank. no co2. can i add seachem foural excel. will its harm my crs?
Excel in shrimp tank, especially small ones(less than 2ft), is not advisable. You need to watch the quantity used carefully.
I tried killing off BBA in my 30cm cube. Sprayed 1ml of Excel on infected area. After a while(around 10-20mins) my CRS started "dancing" around. Quickly put in airpump, and everything is back to normal. My tank is injected with CO2.
Proper cycling need to be done to stabalize the water. Certain plants will do fine during cycling stage. Your hairgrass will need a longer time to adjust, since you tank is not fully cycled yet.
Patience is the word in planted tank. Very Patience is the motto for CRS tank![]()
