    Hi,

I was surfing the web for Didiplis diandra and found that while some say medium to high lighting level is required, others say subdued to moderate lighting is required.

My plant has been with me for about 2 months and is not growing at all. Some part of the stems and leaves are black. I have a 2.5 feet tank and is using 2x18W of lights. C02 is DIY.

Can anyone give some advice on the right lighting level required for this plant and any other useful tips. Thanks.

give it more intense light and adequate fertilizer. Not really a difficult plant.

illumbomb, u defintely got not enough lighting for yr tank, personally for smaller tanks.. i prefer at least 3watts per gal..perharps u like to give us yr tank dimension.. the reason y yr DD aint doing well, is becoz of that

DD should grows well with mid lighting (2+ to less than 3watts per gal) when u provide higher wattage, they turn red.. but it also has to depend on the position of the plants, some lighting fixture have dark areas (especially when using PL, simply because the light tube doesnt cover the length of the tank, this is where FL tube is much better in). Also, yr tank temperature and fertilization is in play too

My tank dimension is about 75cm x 38 cm x 30cm, which is about 20 gals or 88 litres. Currently, I have two 2 feet (18W) fluorescent tubes. Will it be sufficient if I add one more 18W fluorescent tube?

Like Simon has mentioned, try going for 3W/g. For a tank like yours, may I suggest 72W of lighting.... this should cover most of your lighting issues.
    Cheers!!
