Nice layout you have there Ray. I doubt moss you look nice in this scape. HC And Downoi will be a wise choice. A school of rummy nose or cardinal will look best in these type of scape.
Overhauled my 3ft tank and came up with this:
pic 1: Added Bacter100, ClearSuper, Tourmaline BC, Penac P, Penac w, Powersand special, covered with netting to separate ADA Aquasoil amazonia 2 with substrate.
Pic 2: wetting of amazonia 2 before scaping.
Pic 3: skeleton of layout with Malayan Driftwoods and Sudo Shouryu-Seki Stones.
did planting of plants and waiting for tank water to clear up...
Plants:
HC, bylxia japonica, cyperus helferi, tall hairgrass, needle leaf fern, downoi.. maybe adding on some moss but unsure yet.

Keeping.
Apistogramma Peixoto, Agassizi 'Rio Tefe Cacadola', Agassizi 'Tefe Bauna', Bitaenita 'Rio Copea', Diplotaenia 'Barcelos', Mendenzi 'Sao Gabriel', Gibbiceps 'OrangeFace' Opal, Hippolytae, Pauciquamis 'Negro' Uauspei Blukteil, uauspei Rokteil, Elizbethae 'Sao Gabriel', Sunrise, Trifiscata 'Rio Pinmental'
such big wood makes your tank looks small.. i think crypts will look great in it!
Tall hairgrass backdrop is definitely a good choice! Do add a black piece of sticker/paper to the back of your tank. You don't have that much space for planting... try to keep your plant list limited to avoid looking like "rojak". Your plant can be as neutral looking as possible as you have your tree trunks to getting all the attention.
Of course, as of all creative work... there's no right and wrong to everything![]()
Maybe limiting the 'tree stumps' from 3 to 2 or even 1 majestic one will be better?
More room for scaping
You'll get to see your livestock more too
If I may ask, is there a reason why Power Sand and all the substrate additives were covered with a netting?
looks very good for a dark root stump scape!
how did you fill up the water? you can try the one side in, other side out water change method to clear it up
Certainly an interesting scape. Eagerly awaiting to see how you scape it and what plants you add. Update soon i hope![]()
