Hi. I have a fairly new shiruba xb-301 that has a slow leak from the join between the lid and canister body. I have reseated the lid a couple of times but so far no improvement. Anyone had a similar experience that can shed some light on this problem?

You should check that the o-ring is not obstructed by any foreign object. You can probably swivel the o-ring position to see if you can achieve a better fit. If the problem still persists it probably means that the unit you have didn't come out of the mould well. You will need to improvise to force the seal to sit tightly against the housing; maybe adding a film between the o-ring and housing.

    hi
as a follow up post, it turned out the canister filter had a hairline crack which caused the leak.

I managed to fix it by applying a bit of epoxy on the crack itself, then applying some silicone on the o-ring circumference. So no big deal after all.

However i did learn that I must be more careful when handling the lower end spectrum of canister filters.

you could also wrap some white tape near the o-ring (where the canister head seals with the body). this would act as an additional "insurance" in case there is some minor leak again.
    Yecch!
