    Hi,

I intend to use 1"x1" cross section square tube of 1mm thick stainless steel bar for a new 2 tiers stand holding 2 numbers of 120 x50x50cm (4ft) tanks, kindly comment whether the s/s bar strength is able to take the weight. Thank you.

don't understand what are the actual dimensions. you are saying 1in (25.4mm) x 1ft (~300mm) and 1mm thick? what is the cross-section profile of the bar? just a flat bar?

the design of the stand is important too. it counts a lot in whether the stand cans handle the load.

Typo error, cross section is 1" x 1" (square tube) and thickness is 1mm.

Any advise on how the design should be? Thank you.

since you are looking at 1"x1" tube, there is no issue. i thought you were looking at a flat bar.
you can follow conventional stand designs. just ensure that welding joints are properly done.

Hi, thank you for the reply. What if I will put a 4ft on top tier and a 2ft on the bottom, will it topple to 1 side?

no. as long as the stand's footprint (area bounded by the 4 legs) is equal or greater than the footprint of your 4 ft tank.

having the 4 ft on top means a higher centre of gravity. it is still safe unless someone or something is strong enough to tilt the stand pass the limit.
