    Hi,
do you forsee problem fitting pro 3e 2078 into a cabinet with 60cm height? Base on specification the height of this filter is 53.4cm but I am not sure how much allowance is needed for the hoses. pls provide some advice if you have experience with this filter. Many thanks!

I think at least a height of 65 cm is needed for allowance for the hoses and not forgetting the holes for the hoses to go through is lower also. I used both 2078 and 2080. My current cabinet is 90 cm with 2080 and felt just ok.

Thanks for your advice, bro. Think I will go for 2x 2028 instead. How do you find 2078? Is the varying flow benificial for planted tank?

I did not use any of the special features since the flow from 2078 is just enough for a 4 ft tank even its at maximum flow rate. So, no point having lower flow rate to vary I find that 2080 is much better, bigger filtration capacity (I have to buy another 2 packs of ehiem substrate pro and 1 pack of dennerle filter chips to top up the extra space in addition to the those from 2078 previously), better distribution due to 2 inlets.
