You can try angels or apisto cichlids or dwarf cichlids. But do note that they do get territorial when they are going to breed. This is their normal natural instinct and you cannot change that.

Many of them live in waters with chemistry different from another. Some in hard water, some in soft water. So its not recommended to mix. Do a search online regarding different cichlid behaviors as well as different type of cichlids before you do your purchase. Generally, if they are kept in a large school, the aggression level reduces.
There are west african cichlids, north american cichlids, tanganikan cichlids and lake malawi cichlids available in our market.

722 is a dream come true.
Cichlids are gorgeous, I was having a tank full of them. Initially I had only Tanganyika cichilds, once the community tank stabilises, i added a few Malawi cichlids. Usually this is not advisable, but they turn out to be living in harmony with the occasional chases, not fatal at all. What I learnt is that you need ot read up a lot about them, and then you experiment (with caution), but not going to extremes to test out the fishes. Malawi cichlids also tend to become very big compared to Tanganyika. So be careful. But you will enjoy the feeding frenzy that these cichlids are capable of. Very exciting sight.
