2224 flowrate can be adjusted. Did you put to the max? Anyway too much current in the tank is also bad for your fishes. Also the rainbar will restrict the outflow rate. For my 2211 on a 1ft tank, I didn't put the rainbar since day 1.
Just brought a Eheim Pro 2224 for mine 2ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank
Setup everything using the default package ( subtrat pro/mech, installation kit 1 and rain bar ).
Is it normal for flow rate to be so low that fishes (5x small blood parrot) waste can be seem on the floor of the tank ?
even when fish waste is near the intake will not be pull in!!
*** Problem seem to be solved, as per BFS said :
"Remove the strainer and try to place the input as close as the tank base as possible."
Now tank seem much cleaner.
Thanks for all the help guys.

Yep, set to max on the flowrate le. Tested without rain bar also same.
Just dun like to see too much fish waste resting on mine tank base...
Will monitor the water see if become cloudy for the time being.
That's weird. I'm running a smaller 2222, the flow from the rainbar is already too strong for my 2 feet tank even though I packed the cannister densely with additional substrate. Also added a sponge filter to the intake to reduce the input. Water is extremely clean and my tank is spotless. How old is your 2224? Might need some cleaning
I just brought it brand new from LFS.
i found it strange too, cos previously was using dolphin P-708 and flow rate was stronger by alot then 2224.
cannister is arrange as per the website/given ( btm tray = mech, top tray = subtrat pro )
Will try to post a pic when i get home and condition not improve.
maybe you got some partial air-lock... my guess..
if you got a power head just use that to help clear the lock..
Jerry
ok, i try to
1) reassemble everything,
2) test it without both cannister inside
3) attach power head to the inlet
The flow rate still feel super weak. guess tml bring back and ask for advise le.
Remove the strainer and try to place the input as close as the tank base as possible.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
in doubt, just bring back to where you bought it and let them resolve it.
try alot of way, direct pipe from inlet to the base, direct outlet with shorter pipe without rain bar, moving the filter to different heigh, no cannister.
all give mi weak flow...
hope tml trip back will resolve this, cos the LFS beri far from mine home..
Thanks for all the sugestion guys.
so any updates?
i went back to the shop on monday, they told mi the flowrate is the way it is.
Just as what BFG said, they recommend that i should lower mine input as close as the tank base as possible.
The LFS not selling that small extension part, have to get from Qian Hu.
So far i have not fix it up yet as i still can't find a pipe of correct size to lower mine input. Using back old dolphin OHF.
Will update once i found the pipe.
Hey there, if you want stronger currents, put ur rainbar below the water surface and direct it horizontal... play around with the angle and it should create a nice current around the tank
Condition seem to be stable now, tank is cleaner with BFG suggestion.
Thanks everyone for the help.
No problem... I learnt something from this as well... happy fish keeping!
