As a general rule, redder lights cause plants to grow low to the ground and spread out. You should achieve this effect with anything in the 4000 - 5000 Kelvin range. Blue lights tend to make plants grow taller and thinner. This would be the 9000 - 10,000 Kelvin range.
So if you're looking for optimal growth, you'll need to get as close to sunlight as possible in the 6000 - 8000 Kelvin range.
Alternatively, you can use one 4000 and one 10,000 tube and you MIGHT get a similar effect as a pair of 6000s.
Doubt you'll have much luck, T5s are relatively new to the market. And the only place I've seen anything close to 4000K are those coloured lights outside coffeeshops![]()
