Getting into Fishy Business
Do they sell discus to hobbyist at the farm?
How about LFS for discus? I only know Chai Discus has very nice discus, but quite pricey. Which LFS is recommended for discus?
Yo brother,
I've being to Serangoon Central, and I saw this humble little fish shop called 3G fish shop if I remember correctly.. They seem to have lots of discus as compared in proportion to their shop-size.. Its beside a Indian spice shop.. Near the POSE branch..
Cheers!![]()
The possibility is endless on what we can create
As a beginner I found Chai pricey. Rainbow is cheap. However, my favourite is Fish Haven near Tiong Bahru mrt; slightly more expensive but very clean tanks and healthy fish.
Thank you for all the recommendation. Have been keeping discus for quite a while, but stop for a long time. Now decided to pick up again. Those discus LFS that I used to go look see look see are no longer there. Eg. the one in Alexandra village, one in Yishun ring road, fishio tribe and even Discus Habitat has shifted, but I seems not to be able to find the Changi Road shop when I tried to look for it just now.
I went to one so called discus farm near Seaview, really disappointing. So rundown and the discus not kept properly.
Chai may be pricey, but i found they have some of the most impressive discus that you can find in Singapore.
marble, fishio tribe is now shoal heaven at the same location![]()
thanks moluccan, i will go again and see. I wanted to get a nice blue base discus. I went to Qian Hu today and saw they put different colors of discus in a tank. Quite awesome!
I am also looking at a albino LSS or snow leopard. Any bro/sis know where can i go take a look?
Heh marble, you were probably there just a bit too early cos' they open for biz at about 11am. http://shoalhaven.com.sg/Contact_Us.htm
as toshika said, rainbow is a good place. they have many varieties at very reasonable prices. their discus are from malaysia, but im not sure which part. i went there last week saw many LSS and red maps. nice. anyway they have a lot of varieties so its worth making the trip down.
anyway what about home breeders? anybody has any to recommend? in my opinion home breeders have more time to take care of their fish than fish shops do and result in very nice and well taken care of specimens.
