Welcome! Sorry to hear about your arowana. Doing a planted might be more "poisonous"...
Hi everyone I'm Donald, been keeping arowanas for several years until it
died in early January 2008, I giveout fishkeeping after that for about one year until I came across this website from other forum. I now started planted tank and hope to gain as much knowledge from this beautiful site.
Welcome! Sorry to hear about your arowana. Doing a planted might be more "poisonous"...
I know its hurting, but don't give up just yet.
One ups for you. Seeing my avatar, we are kinda in the same group. Go ahead and try your planted tank. My colleague started one planted tank within one-two weeks in this forum. Currently happily playing with his tank..ha ha.
Thanks burpz & Blue Whale for encouraging me, presently I have setup a planted tank and after work when I reach home the first thing I would do is to sit in front of the planted tank,it is so relaxing to watch at the fishes and plants.
Happy for you bro! I get what you mean, I'll sit in front of my tank for a moment, every morning when I wake up...
Might I introduce an interesting fish for your planted? Apistogramma!!
Have a look at this thread:

Yeap! Observation, necessary skills of a fish or plant hobbist.
As you observe and appreciate how graceful each fish is, how the leaves moves as water flows, the light that each gives out, it sorta washes your soul, you can almost feel the wind. And then you are ready to move on into the world.
As you feel weary after a day's work, you come back to the tank, like taking a bathe, your soul gets wash, then you are ready to retire to sleep feeling tranquil from the noise of the present world and feel at peace...
Really ar? ha ha. I once show a photo of the heart-felt design of a dream house picture to my sister, she exclaimed "Zen!" too.
Imagine this, you come into a bunglow like main gate, after the front, you have to cross this small zig zap bridge with water surrounding the house, with a pond that is at least 1.8m in height, bamboos on the side growing, floating aquatic plants sproating lotus like flower, fishes swimming around, then you enter the first floor where glass doors. Enter a room known as the dining room, with L shaped corner opened to view of the pond, with white curtains hanging down at the side of the glass plane doors.
I will spare the details of the underground floor and the 2nd floor. =)
Very nice bro... really a dream house.... have to win a few Totos then it might come true...![]()
I did, but the algro. just changed. Hence I have replanned again =P Haven't been buying toto for a few weeks, getting rusty.
Okay lah, so far 3 wins this year, not counting the previous years. Last one was about $80. Small wins, I am not too greedy but if I strike big ones, I will just retire. hee hee.
Think you better move over to my boring thread before Vinz complains again..lol
